Position Summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc (MEPPI) is looking for an IT Director to manage all operational activities of the corporate Information Technology (IT) department. The IT Director will provide direction and support with IT solutions to enhance business operations, and provide consultative support on the Company’s products and services.

Essential Functions

Operations Support

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the IT department to achieve secure, reliable, and cost-effective operations of IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and operationalize the Company’s information technology strategy, vision, and objectives. Recommend short- and long-term IT goals and objectives to business leaders. Document and execute the IT Strategic Roadmap.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and educate business stakeholders on the potential for new technologies to deliver return on investment by enabling business innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Maintain the Company-level Security Program based on industry standard guidelines (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.) to reduce vulnerabilities and risks associated with Company Information Systems. Serve as the designated Director of Information Security for the Company.
  • Oversee the operation of the Company business systems, including day-to-day support, enhancements, upgrades, add-on systems, security, licensing, training, and upgrades.
  • Lead large-scale, company-wide system and software implementation projects including selection, justification, project and resource planning, budgets, process engineering, and training.
  • Ensure the production and presentation of employee training for all company-level software applications.
  • Represent MEPPI on IT topics in Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
  • Oversee and execute the Company’s Technology Disaster Recovery Plan and IT Incident Communications Plan.
  • Develop and administer all IT policies and procedures including those for architecture, compliance, security, disaster recovery, standards, and service provisioning.
  • Establish and manage the IT budget and IT staffing plans required to support the strategic and operational goals of the Company.
  • Oversee the negotiation and administration of vendor, outside service providers, and consultant contracts and service agreements for products and services.
  • Review contract language and provide feedback on cybersecurity, data privacy, electronic data retention, and other IT-related contract terms.

Product Support

  • Provide guidelines and consultation on the hardware and software used in the Company’s products and systems sold to customers.
  • Provide quality assurance and security oversight for the hardware and software used in the Company’s products and systems sold to customers.
  • Continuously investigate new and future hardware and software concepts and methodically share appropriate ideas with the Division General Managers for application in their products and services.
  • Manage and direct staff according to Company policies and procedures to achieve division and department objectives. Develop employees by training, cross training and providing continuing education opportunities. Conduct performance reviews and provide input for salary decisions.
  • Support and assist the Company’s senior staff as needed.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the IT Department by conducting business with other MEPPI departments, consultants, suppliers, etc., in a timely and cooperative manner.
  • Know MEPPI’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors’ degree in computer-related field and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience with at least five years in a managerial capacity, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of business and manufacturing system processes.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT networks and communications systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management techniques and systems.
  • Advanced interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
