Position Summary and General Description of Duties:

The Director of the Ranch, reporting to the Vice President of Operations, is a vital component to the health, safety, and well-being of Marbridge – providing supervision, delegation, and overseeing all aspects of our Assisted Living community. This position will ensure the community is ran according to established policies and procedures of the organization, to include minimum standards developed by Texas Health and Human Services.

This position is responsible for the overall implementation of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, budgeting, and physical management of the Marbridge Ranch. The goal is to create a culture that outlasts the lives and tenure of any one individual or group. A strong passion for individuals with intellectual disabilities and the Marbridge Mission is crucial.

SCHEDULE:

  • Minimum work schedule is 40 hours per work week. Generally Monday-Friday; occasionally called upon to work odd schedules, holidays, or weekends. Primarily works in an office setting but will also work outdoors and in other indoor settings. This position requires on-call duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate the facility in accordance with established Marbridge Policies and Procedures.
  • Act as liaison for Marbridge Ranch in all Ranch dealings with Texas Health and Human Services.
  • Write definitive policies regarding duties and activities of the staff that will ensure the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of the residents. Explain these policies so that the aim and purpose of the facility may be achieved by cooperative effort.
  • Supervise the recruitment, employment, and discharge of all employees. Ensure that adequate numbers of employees are working to meet the needs of the residents on a twenty-four-hour basis.
  • Write personnel policies and individual duties and see that they are known by all employees. Delegate the authority required for the performance of their jobs to the Assistant Director.
  • Use diplomacy but firmness in settling any disputes, complaints, etc. concerning personnel, residents, or families.
  • Evaluate the performance of each employee periodically and address assessments as needed.
  • Provide training opportunities for the staff pertaining to their job.
  • Ensure that expenses incurred in running the facility fall within given budget. If budget is not to be met report reasons for excessive variances and corrective actions to VP of Ops on a quarterly basis.
  • See that all accounts receivable are current and follow up on any delinquent accounts for services.
  • Maintain as much personal contact as possible with the resident and his/her family or guardian/sponsor to continue good relationships,
  • Ensure that the necessary supplies for the operation of the facility are purchased and available for use as needed.
  • Be familiar with relevant TDHS standards and regulations of other entities (Health Dept., Fire Marshall, etc). Stay current on changes in regulations.
  • Assure that all equipment is kept in operating order and facility kept in good repair (direct responsibility delegated to Maintenance Department).

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND STANDARDS:

Required:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Assisted Living Manager (CALM) certificate required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 year college or university) required (combined relevant education and experience may satisfy requirements)
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership/management experience required (can be cumulative)
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience with 3 or more direct reports
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in Assisted Living, Nursing, or akin facility (can be cumulative)
  • Requires the ability to effectively supervise others and delegate authority
  • Must be able to perform under pressure and adapt to changing situations
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others orally and in writing
  • Must have the ability to work within deadlines and budgets
  • Experience with the IDD population preferred

  • Follows Policies & Procedures in training manuals and employee handbook.

  • The Directors position is an active position requiring much movement throughout the facility grounds on a regular basis. Requires lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and vision

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $78,000.00 per year
