Position Summary

The Learning Director provides strategic leadership and direction to ADUSA Distribution & Transportation, developing the learning strategy to address functional, technical and leadership needs. Thoughtful collaboration and partnership across multiple business units creating a cohesive learning journey is at the core of this team’s purpose. The learning journey should meet the needs of all associates spanning from entry level roles through executive leadership.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with senior leadership and HR Business Partners to identify learning needs, facilitate successful implementation, assess progress and success, and reposition content and programming for continued success.
  • Recommends, develops and implements company learning strategy to address leadership, functional, and technical skills training to close gaps in skills application and ensure that associates have the tools they need to productively perform their jobs.
  • Directs content creation and ensures the sustainability of learning, training and development strategies and programs throughout Supply Chain that meet the needs and gaps of the workforce to build skills and competencies needed for high performing teams.
  • Develops training program framework, and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, e-learning and workshops. Selects and develops learning aids such as: training handbooks, facilitator guides, participant guides, presentation slides, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference documents.
  • Lead learning deployment including providing train the trainer facilitation and materials, managing logistics, communications planning, etc.
  • Oversee development, publication, and sharing of standard operating procedure and training documentation for all key activities and processes and manage repository for all documentation. Ensure all procedures and documentation maintain compliance with all auditing standards.
  • Directs LMS use and optimization, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, effectively leveraging reporting and analytics to drive performance.
  • Provide best practice guidance and support for production-level trainers to support the effective execution of standard practices / standard operating procedures and meet safety, service, and quality expectations.
  • Leverage network opportunities and pursue internal and external partnerships maintaining cutting edge skills for learning methodologies. Engage with Ahold Delhaize global learning support for best practice sharing.
  • Manage and achieve budgetary commitments.
  • Lead and develop a team of learning specialists

Education

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

Preferred:

  • MBA

Experience

  • 10+ years experience in learning, instructional design, and/or human resources
  • Demonstrated communication skills (verbal, written) and executive presence through strong thought leadership in connecting dots to patterns and capable of conveying strategies/ideas to different levels of the organization effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully building, launching and evaluating high impact functional, technical and leadership programs.
  • Proven design and development experience that incorporates adult learning principles (e.g., ADDIE Model, Design Thinking, Kirkpatrick Model, Bloom’s Taxonomy).
  • Ability to proactively manage large, multi-year projects to ensure budgets, schedules & performance criteria are met.
