Overview
The Director- Chaplaincy guides leadership, decision making, strategic planning for spiritual care and chaplaincy, and establishes programs and policies that align with the IU Health mission, vision, and values. The Director is responsible for programs of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The Director will be part of the ACPE Faculty for the IU Health System. This role also partners with leadership to ensure the efficient and productive use of resources and services, including participation in budget planning and development, collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to assess organizational needs, and delivers services to meet those needs. The Director offers spiritual, emotional, and cultural care to patients, visitors, and team members and is accountable for driving results and meeting or exceeding goals.
- Requires the minimum of a Masters of Divinity or equivalent and meets the certification requirements of APC or NACC within 2 years of data of hire.
- May require certification requirements of APC or NACC within 2 years of data of hire.
- Requires knowledge of diverse religious traditions and the ability to minister to persons with diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.
- Requires knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
- Requires quality patient care; communication and crisis intervention skills.
- May require a completed hospital chaplaincy residency program, or at least 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent training.
