The Role

Do you want to make a difference in our customers’ lives and be part of a highly collaborative team committed to building and delivering the communication strategy for technology associates serving Fidelity Brokerage Technology (FBT) and Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT) in a global organization?

We are looking for a Director of Business Engagement who will be leading the strategy, development, and execution of communication programs that engage, inform, and inspire associates.

You will amplify our brand and story internally and externally, connect associates with our mission and objectives, and build experiences through relevant, creative content crafted for digital and social channels as well as live events. If you are passionate about creating communications that drive business outcomes, we want to hear from you!

You will be developing and leading critical communications programs – executive communications, associate communications, social media – that support FBT and FIT's business objectives and align with Fidelity enterprise priorities. These communications will reach key audiences that include associates, senior leaders, and business partners with a focus on measurement and impact to determine effectiveness.

You’ll have opportunities to learn, build new skills and grow as you shape and implement impactful communications and engagement efforts. This includes:

  • Driving critical communication programs and working with business partners and senior leaders to ensure consistency in messaging, alignment in strategy and an effective and engaging associate experience
  • Developing original content for a variety of communication channels with a particular focus on digital channels, live events, video, and social media
  • Naturally shifting between internal and external communications depending on business needs
  • Representing FBT and FIT in Fidelity enterprise-level communications programs
  • Coaching leaders, partners, and colleagues across a range of communication needs
  • Measuring the impact of all communications programs and maintaining strong attention to detail, accuracy, and overall work quality while meeting commitments

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree; curious with a desire to continuously learn and grow
  • 8+ years as a communications professional; financial services knowledge preferred
  • Expertise across executive, internal, and external communications
  • Social media expertise preferred
  • Modern, digital, and authentic communicator with the ability to lead, develop and implement integrated communications programs
  • Adept at exploring new, creative, and engaging ways to proactively tell the Fidelity story across various media/channels, with the ability to take complex concepts and distill them into compelling content for internal and external audiences
  • Skilled at leading multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity’s high standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal and compliance
  • Customer/audience obsessed, have a strategic approach, and can effectively evolve strategies based on data and feedback
  • Outstanding writer and storyteller who crafts engaging, inclusive communications that help associates feel connected and supported
  • Highly motivated and can thrive in a fast-paced, forward-thinking, and constantly evolving team environment
  • Familiarity with organizational change a plus

The Team

FBT enables business partners to win in their respective marketplaces by designing, building, and modernizing the technology platforms and products of Fidelity Institutional, Workplace Investing, and Personal Investing. As a member of the dynamic Business and Agile Engagement team, you will be part of the Office of the CIO (OCIO), working within a team that implements and innovates business management practices that promote cross-domain alignment, visibility, and scale and serves as a central planning and strategy group. Our success is dependent on collaboration and partnership across Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology (FBOT) and with our partners across the enterprise.
