Job Summary
The Director of Business Development is responsible for successful establishment, expansion and/or strong market share of home health and/or hospice services in an assigned territory. The Director develops, organizes, implements and monitors plans to achieve the Organization’s growth objectives.

• Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the direction, supervision, and support of Home Health sales and operations in assigned territory/market(s).
  • Develops, maintains and strengthens business partnerships (Hospital Systems, Physicians, SNFs, ALFs, ILFs, Hospice, Outpatient, Ancillary, ACOs, BPCI, and C-Suite Executives) for the Organization’s core businesses in assigned territory/market(s).
  • Provides leadership and direction of start-up operations for Home Health and/or Hospice in assigned area.
  • Provides oversight of P&L targeting for developing and progressing to profitable operations.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic business plans for Home Health and/or Hospice (sales/marketing and operations).
  • Identifies and attains overall census growth targets in assigned territory/market(s).
  • Learns and utilizes the Organization’s reporting and market insight mechanisms like Health Pivots, Insights and WellSky EMR to develop and inform strategy.
  • Develops and implements sales training programs in collaboration with SVP of Sales and Marketing and site leadership.
  • Collaborates with leadership, sales, marketing, and operations to secure, retain and grow strategic partnerships.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated skills and ability in: fiscal accountability, communication (written, verbal, persuasion, negotiation, and public speaking), interpersonal relations, customer service, problem solving, planning and organizing, data analysis, conflict resolution and other leadership qualities
  • Proven track record with strategy planning, development and execution

• Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in health administration or business or related area; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management/supervisory experience
  • Strong experience Home Health sales and operations
  • Demonstrated experience in Home Health or Hospice Start Up/New Start
  • Understanding of P&L with relationship to developing and progressing to profitable operations
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of Florida, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Readily available and able for local travel; travel may be required supporting home health or hospice responsibilities within the Organization’s geographic footprint.
