The National Director of Licensing and Accreditation is responsible for obtaining and maintaining licensure, Medicare, Medicaid and other certifications for all programs. This position works as liaison for outside counsel with regard to individual state and federal requirements and risk management. The National Director of Licensing and Accreditation provides administrative support to Bristol Hospice Board of Managers and Advisory Board. This position supervises implementation and maintenance of company document/contract management systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for all Medicare/MediCal/Medicaid applications, updates and revalidations
Submit initial state, federal and local licensing and renewals as needed
Submit applications for tax ID numbers and updates as needed
Submit applications for NPI numbers to the NPPES website
Submit and track Registered Agent entities
Oversees the consistent updating of corporate policy software
Ensure tracking document is maintained and reflects current data
Responsible for submitting CLIA applications and renewals
Submit CLR applications and renewals for all California programs
Assist with the delivery of legally sensitive documents
Maintain all contract templates for programs and assist with amendments, renewals or initial agreement preparation
Maintain state and foreign registrations including initial and annual renewal for all programs
Work with insurance broker to ensure all programs have proper coverage as well as coverage for Medical Directors, NPs and volunteers
Notify insurance Risk Management of potential legal actions based on review of record requests or process service requested
Prepare materials for Advisory Board and Board of Managers quarterly
Attend board meetings to take minutes
Assist with information gathering for auditors as requested by Finance
Collaborate with accreditation agencies as necessary
Ensure all regulatory filings are completed prior to deadline dates to maintain licensure and accreditation
Supervision of project manager to ensure all project timelines are completed prior to assigned deadlines
Supervision of assigned staff to ensure all regulatory, licensure, re validation, and assigned duties are completed within assigned timelines
Submits and tracks 855 submissions as assigned in collaboration with legal department
Ensures all licenses, accreditations, contracts, insurance, and validations remain current for Bristol as an enterprise

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must comply with company policies, procedures and processes in addition to Hospice and Home Health rules and regulations
Must be dependable and flexible in work schedule
Must comply with harassment and discrimination policies
Must foster good working relationships
Must be willing to participate in a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter
Must be able to read, write and speak in English
Must have valid drivers license
Must be willing to travel as needed

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to read and follow instructions as required
Must be willing to participate in a drug screen prior to hire, when involved in a work-related auto accident or when reasonable suspicion is reported
Must be able to use standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, copiers, scanner and fax machines
Must be able to sit for long periods
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally, by phone or in person

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a bachelors degree, equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Must possess a minimum of five (5) years experience working with project development
Must have a minimum of one (1) year involved in mid-level management
Must have a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate the skills to manage a staff remotely and on site
Must possess a good understanding of contractual language
Must demonstrate the ability to work with teams and individuals on all levels
Must possess strong analytical ability to prioritize and complete detailed projects and meet timelines
Must demonstrate a strong understanding of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
Must possess strong organizational skills and ability to manage a variety of projects at one time meeting all timelines

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess the ability to assess the needs of company locations to determine and prioritize project needs
Must possess the ability to work closely with others on all levels of the organization
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with outside agencies to obtain licenses, certifications and ensure compliance with regulations
