Job description

Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term until 26 December 2023 or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.

Are you interested in developing engaging film and email content and photography? The Cambridge Admissions Office is looking for a creative and organised professional to join the Student Recruitment and Marketing Team, leading on a variety of film projects and regular email communications for prospective students and their supporters.

Our experienced and friendly team produces and manages a range of resources (including websites, print publications, and digital media), encouraging qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply to the University.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of a range of film projects, including: a course film for the new Design course; a widening participation film to support website content for the University's Access and Participation Plan; student-led 'day-in-the-life' films and College films. This will involve working with external production companies, planning content and messaging, overseeing filming and editing, as well as liaising with colleagues and stakeholders across the University, and evaluating impact.

You will produce monthly email communications for three distinct audiences (prospective students, teachers and advisers, and parents and supports), keeping them up to date with key elements of the application process and letting them know about events going on around the University. As part of this, you will support the Deputy Head of Student Recruitment (Marketing) to collate, regularly review and maintain an overarching communications plan for the wider Student Access and Admissions Team.

You will work closely with members of the team whilst self-managing your individual workload in order to ensure the successful and timely delivery of projects. Applicants should be educated to degree level (or have equivalent related experience), have excellent organisational and communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail.

When applying, please upload your CV and cover letter which clearly sets out how you meet the criteria listed in the person specification (the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the role) along with relevant examples. Candidates will be shortlisted and invited to interview based upon these criteria.

Interviews for the role will be held in Cambridge in w/c 12 December.

If you wish to make an informal enquiry about the post, please contact Kirstie Wale, Deputy Head of Student Recruitment (Marketing), Kirstie.wale@admin.cam.ac.uk.

Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
