The BBC Sport NI website is the most popular service of its type in Northern Ireland and regularly attracts more than one million users a week. The site provides the latest news, interviews, features and analysis from across the sporting world and is increasingly a destination for live sports streaming.

Aligned to the website, BBC Sport NI has more that 600,000 followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. These accounts give BBC Sport NI the opportunity to reach out to younger audiences to deliver core sports news and coverage in a more conversational and interactive way.

We are recruiting for a one shift a week Broadcast Journalist to join the BBC Sport NI online team.

The successful candidate will work on a wide range of sports stories from live events to sports news coverage.

They would help plan and cover major events in the sporting calendar as well as react to breaking news stories on the day, both on our website and across our social media platforms.

The successful candidate will work remotely, in the office and on location (when required) at events and also generate their own stories through their own contacts.

We are looking for an individual with a core knowledge of sport and sports journalism, especially in Northern Ireland.

You will have a demonstrable passion for sport and experience as a sports journalist.

A knowledge of the social media platforms BBC Sport NI online use is also desirable

You should be able to make editorial decisions quickly and confidently and have the ability to produce content in line with BBC editorial policy.

Contract: Permanent - 10hrs per week

Location: Northern Ireland
