Traveler Dialysis Registered Nurse

$70/hour - 100% travel position (nationwide)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work under the supervision of the Corporate Director of Dialysis
• Perform onsite hospital visits for new, in-house dialysis programs
  • Assist in review staffing needs based on hospital location and projected or established patient census
  • Assist in interviewing of dialysis staff making recommendations on candidates
  • Identify appropriate space in hospitals for:
  • Dialysis treatment room/suite (if available)
  • Machine & Supply storage
• Provide dialysis expertise to dialysis staff, hospital staff and hospital management team
• Ensure dialysis therapy is performed according to PAM policies and procedures, TJC, CMS CfC, and State Board of Nursing
• Conduct follow-up visits to newly launched PAM dialysis programs ensuring:
  • Approved dialysis policy and procedure manual present for staff
    • Ensure employee review and sign off of dialysis P&P
  • Ensuring staff competencies and skills checklist present in employee file
  • Ensuring all dialysis staff complete colorblind testing annually
  • Treatments are performed according to PAM policies and procedures
  • Adherence to proper infection control measures
  • Proper documentation is present and accurate for each treatment
    • Signed consents
    • Physician orders
    • Dialysis documentation records
      • Tablo Treatment Record
      • Hemodialysis Treatment Supplement
      • Hand-off Form
    • Ensuring equipment biological samples are collected, reviewed and signed off by the Medical Director monthly
    • Ensuring machine disinfection per P&P and appropriate documentation in machine records
• Provide staffing support in the event of:
  • Staff emergencies
  • Vacation support
  • Cover assigned hospitals for a defined length of time
  • Travel and Housing will be provided during assignment
  • Planned assignments will be provided as much as possible, but emergent travel may be needed to cover dialysis patients at a location
    • The Regional Dialysis Support Registered Nurse should be prepared to travel on quick notice for emergent assignments
• Perform dialysis treatments within PAM dialysis policies and procedures and established ESRD guidelines
  • Perform a pre and post assessment for each treatment
  • Set up equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines and IFU.
  • Ensuring that hemodialysis treatments are administered to patients per physician’s order.
  • Monitoring patients during dialysis treatment to identify any adverse reactions and take appropriate corrective action
  • Promptly notifying the appropriate medical practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis treatments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training:

• State license to practice nursing.
  • The Regional Support Dialysis Nurse will obtain a compact State License and may be required to obtain other licenses in non-compact States
• Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required.
• Proven experience working as a Dialysis Nurse
  • Peritoneal Dialysis experience is preferred but not required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience: One year dialysis experience is preferred
