Description and Responsibilities:
The Developmental Specialist is a supervisory position that is scheduled Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:00pm and manages a team of Teaching Assistants.

Description and Responsibilities:
The Adult Learning Center is a Day Habilitation program currently serving adults between the ages of 23-85 with a diagnosis of intellectual disabilities and some physical challenges. Most participants require supportive structures and staff assistance to maximize their involvement in activities. Services and supports provided to participants include, but are not limited to: occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, nursing oversight, functional skill development, communication, socialization, community membership, and self-advocacy.
The Developmental Specialist is a supervisory position that is scheduled Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:00pm and manages a team of Teaching Assistants.
In addition, the Developmental Specialist will:
- Develop, implement and operate a program model consistent with the vision of maximizing community involvement and providing personalized, flexible supports to the individuals served.
- Coordinate daily activity schedules.
- Foster and develop positive community relationships.
- Monitor and oversee the overall process and development of Individual Service Plans.
- Collaborate and maintain positive relationships with ancillary services, community members, other service providers and significant others.
- Ensure individuals are receiving supports to maximize their health and safety.
- Hire and train staff.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Alternative education/experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- Two years experience working with people with developmental disabilities, and supervisory experience.
- Valid driver's license for 3 years.
- Drug test required.
