Specifically, we are seeking a Development Specialist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and executing effective special events to raise funds for a youth-oriented nonprofit. The position reports to the Director of Marketing and Foundation and will be responsible for donor relations including the identification, prospecting, solicitation and cultivation of donors and corporate sponsors, as well as supporting donor and alumni affinity groups to further the organization’s development efforts. This position is locally hybrid in the Northern Kentucky/ Cincinnati area.

Essential Job Function:
  • Develop high-level contact relationships with key and perspective donors and sponsors.
  • Plan and execute high-quality and high net-return special events.
  • Cultivate existing and perspective supporters through donor-centered relationships.
  • Work within a high-performing team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual fundraising goals.
  • Increase the number of donors and sponsors supporting the organization.
  • Develop and implement a plan to diversify operating revenue by raising new dollars annually to fund operational costs, including upgrading donors, aggressive identification and engagement of new corporate partners and the creation and oversight of affinity groups to identify and reengage the alumni base.
  • Track and manage tasks within database and donations on website.
Job Requirements:


Education:
An undergraduate degree from an accredited educational institution. • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation, or active pursuit of CFRE, preferred.

  • Exhibits fundraising proficiency; ability to solicit and close sponsorships and philanthropic gifts.
  • Two or more years of successful fundraising experience with a proven ability to plan and execute special events.
  • Relationship driven.
  • Identifies, develops, and fosters meaningful relationships with individuals and corporations from all walks of life and in various environments.
  • Community development professional.
  • Ability to network in the community and identify individual and corporate major gift prospects.
  • Persuasive presenter. Tells compelling stories that appeal to donors on an emotional level and illustrates how the donor can help make a difference.
  • Superb written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills. Creative, self-starter attitude.
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekends.
  • Provide a positive professional example.
  • Fiscal management and budget development skills.
  • Able to grasp basic accounting skills in order to achieve and surpass budget expectations.
  • Enthusiastic about serving the youth and families in the Greater Cincinnati area
  • Results oriented. Focuses on key priorities, executes with excellence, and meets or exceeds annual goals.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency, and with the end-result in mind.
