As our Desktop Systems Specialist, you will have the ability to utilize your exceptional customer service skills and keen interest in IT to configure, troubleshoot, repair or resolve issues related to hardware, software, business applications and networking in our Windows environment. In this fast-paced role, providing excellent service and being able to prioritize and manage competing priorities in a timely manner will be the keys to your success! Our goal is to resolve problems in a timely manner or escalate on behalf of our customers to the appropriate technical team member. You will provide incident, task, and project status updates to management and end-users allowing us to support and maintain effective relationships with all those we serve. You will additionally have the opportunity to collaborate on the development, documentation, and implementation of processes and knowledge base articles relating to IT support.
Your Impact:
- Provide excellent technical computer support, such as configuration, installation and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software.
- Support all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based software.
- Participate in the testing and evaluation of new hardware and software.
- Execute white glove onsite and remote computer hardware, software and peripheral setups, installations, and configurations.
- Perform installation, configuration, maintenance and support of printers and hand held devices.
- Maintain, repair and image assets.
- Provide overflow support for Service Desk and Asset Management.
- Contribute positively to our customer service, incident, and request service level agreements. This includes being able to shift focus to high priority escalations.
- Coordinate escalation and resolution of technical issues with IT teams.
- Develop, document and contribute to ongoing IT process improvement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for key business projects.
- Collaborate with more experienced technicians to solve complex computer and network connectivity problems.
- Commitment to individual goals by completing ongoing training and development.
- Create a positive and professional work environment.
- Perform responsibilities within established SOX, Security, and Asset management compliance criteria.
Required Qualifications:
- A four year degree is required or a high school diploma with at least 4 years hands on experience troubleshooting, configuring and installing hardware and software in a vast environment.
- Strong knowledge working in a Microsoft environment.
- Knowledge of networking and the ability be thorough with hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to travel out-of-state 25% of the time
- Must be able to work a later shift, ending between 6-7pm. There is no telecommute option for this role.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer imaging experience
- SCCM knowledge with imaging and deployments
- Experience with operating system migrations
- A+ Certified
- Healthcare or Warehouse IT experience
- Experience supporting conference room audio/visual.
