Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Bethesda, MD

With continued growth comes opportunity, and we are currently searching for an Desktop Support Engineer. This position is based in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an additional escalation resource for service desk and computer user community.
  • Perform best practice desktop engineering support for an enterprise environment of 3500+ seats (PC/Mac), and 1500+ mobile devices.
  • Administer the central desktop management services (currently BigFix for Windows OS) which is used to manage computers for staff use. Additionally, perform desktop software deployments, desktop system patching, centralized antivirus management, group policy management, and security endpoint management of all desktop systems.
  • Report on progress; develop tools for system-wide use in developing applications; prepares system documentation.
  • Coordinate communications channels during major incidents and record problem investigations.
  • Perform application packaging, deployments, documentation, and release control in an enterprise IT environment, as well as secure baseline image creation for multiple hardware configurations.
  • Monitor & respond to application/system alerts according to established monitoring plans.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree along with two (2) years of relevant work experience in IT customer support or an Associate degree or H.S. diploma with four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must meet all requirements for obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Knowledge of BigFix or computer management tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and image maintenance
  • It is required that the candidate hold or will be certified within 6 months of hire, one or more of the following certifications (or current equivalent):
  • Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) v3 or higher
  • MTA: Microsoft Technology Associate
- MCSA: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (current or current version -1)
  • MSCE: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
  • CompTIA A+ Certified Professional
  • CompTIA Network+ Certified Professional CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional
  • GCWN: GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator.
