Responsibilities
This position reports to Manager, Experience Design Capabilities and Innovation. The Experience Design Consultant will support system-wide programs, initiatives and projects focused on ensuring a consistent, exceptional, and personalized patient experience aligned with UC Davis Health’s Patient Promise, “Patients are at the center of everything we do.” The Experience Design Consultant will work closely with leaders to identify, prioritize, and plan improvement efforts through data analysis and observation. This role will be responsible to lead improvement efforts, implementing evidence-based best practices, training and coaching to support behavior change and drive improvement of patient experience metrics.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience and training.
  • Several years (3-5) or more years of experience delivering patient-focused initiatives or staff development related to creating exceptional patient care outcomes and experiences.
  • Project/Program Management experience.
  • Experience working with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Experience in analyzing Voice of the Customer data, including patient experience, complaint, and social media to glean insights for proposing actionable steps and/or initiatives to drive improved patient experiences.
  • Demonstrated data analysis skills as evidenced from past work and experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Process Improvement Certification
  • Certifications in coaching, change management, individual and organizational assessment and/or other related programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of large, multidisciplinary healthcare systems.
