Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000

SUMMARY:

DAWSON has an opportunity for a Deputy Project Manager in the National Capital Region. The Deputy Project Manager will work directly with Program and Engineering Staff and will integrate into planning and engineering operations and is responsible for a combination of project programmatic and engineering execution management functions. The Deputy Project Manager will assist in planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, invoicing, and Agile task management. Additionally, this position is in direct support of a challenging large-scale opportunity that provides full-spectrum support to the Uniformed Services of the Health Sciences’ small to medium sized enterprise. The Deputy Project Manager shall:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Program Manager(s) to establish and refine existing operating and organizational resources and processes of projects as needed to ensure efficient delivery of a quality products within project and budget and schedule constraints

  • Ensures appropriate policies and protocols are in place to deliver sustained project success for current and future work

  • Backfills requirements of the program staff, overseeing contractor performance and project operations by developing procedures; planning and directing execution of the technical multi-disciplinary technical, engineering, and administrative support

  • Manages acquisition and employment of project resources

  • Controls Project financial and administrative aspects

  • Collaborates with Engineers, Architects, and Project Stakeholders to align key initiatives to ensure proper project support plans and resourcing

  • Performs budget management and forecasting, tracking/approving subcontract invoices, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable responsibilities

  • Works with Project Stakeholders to understand their expectations and manage those through project completion

  • Work with existing clients to identify future client needs and requirements in which the DAWSON team could assist

  • Directly/Indirectly supervises employees within the project team. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems

  • Manages Project work task assignments, progress reporting, and tracks products throughout the Period of Performance

  • Works with Program Staff on other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in Management, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or other related field or hold a minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience

  • Experience working on IT projects and assisting with change management/ configuration management of IT infrastructures across various technologies

  • Ability to carry out and lead projects while meeting expectations and deadlines

  • Strong personal communication skills to support cross-team and technology partner interaction including business reviews with partners/vendors

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Excellent planning, ability to adapt and overcome new situations and focus team members to accomplish project goals and objectives

Salary Rate $80,000 - $100,000
