Hillel Yeshiva is a K-12 Modern Orthodox Day School. We seek an outstanding Technology Department Coordinator to join a supportive, collegial, growing technology team. The ideal candidate possesses a broad and deep understanding of technology in the educational environment, is a hard-working professional with strong organizational and communication skills, and is committed to advancing the use of educational technology in a school environment.

This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position (range: $70,000-$110,000) reporting to the Director of Instructional Technology. The Technical Department Coordinator coordinates technology support at Hillel Yeshiva and will contribute to achieving Hillel’s overall school technology vision. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and implements ongoing strategic technology plan
  • Manage technology purchasing
  • Assist in the implementation of technology budget
  • Oversee hardware lifecycle
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Project management of technology initiatives
  • Assist in the assessment of stakeholder needs
  • Research and stay abreast of current trends and solutions
  • Manage the Helpdesk system
  • Assist in the management of the technology support process
  • Educate users in the use of technology by guiding them and empowering them to solve problems independently
  • Effectively document resolutions to build a knowledge base
  • Will work with complicated issues (level 3+) and work with the Director of Technology to resolve them
  • Maintain user hardware devices
  • Manage and develop policies for the management of Windows, ChromeOS, MacOS, and iOS devices
  • Oversee maintenance of printers and Multifunction Printers, classroom A/V equipment such as interactive touch-screens and document cameras
  • Coordinate event setups during the day, occasionally in the evening, and rarely on weekends
  • Maintain A/V equipment
  • Setup and breakdown portable projection, audio, and video equipment
  • Setup and manage livestream events
  • Coordinate the management of technology systems
  • purchasing and managing of technology inventory and licenses
  • management of various cloud platforms, such as PowerSchool
  • network and datacenter needs
  • Enthusiastically encourage teachers and students to use technology in meaningful ways
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Requirements

  • Experience with working with people who have varying levels of technology expertise
  • Insatiable desire to learn, and to research and find innovative solutions
  • A teacher’s disposition: approachable, patient, gentle, and supportive
  • Strong interpersonal skills; an ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and parents
  • Interest in tinkering, making, doing, and staying abreast of new technologies
  • A demonstrable track record of being an innovative, committed, positive, energetic, flexible, adaptive, creative, collaborative, and effective professional

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects, with competing priorities and frequent interruptions, to completion
  • Qualifications
  • Experience with current technologies used in educational institutions
  • Experience in educational (or other child-centric) environment preferred
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking strongly preferred
  • Google Workspace and Chrome device management experience required
  • Experience with management of Active Directory, Windows Server and Desktop OS required
  • Appropriate certifications (A+, Network+, CCNA, CCSP, MCP, MCSE, and MCSA) preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Asbury Park, NJ 07712: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
