The Department Associate is responsible for performing general office functions including receptionist, answering the phone, registering, and scheduling appointments and other clerical support for the department staff.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Serves as receptionist by communicating effectively and professionally when answering the phone and greeting in person all staff, patients, caregivers, and providers.
  • Accurately registers patients and verifies current insurance information.
  • Coordinates, maintains and revises staff and/or patient schedules.
  • Communicates and documents necessary information appropriately with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members.

Requirements for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Customer service or office experience
  • 1-2 years medical office experience preferred
  • Must have an appreciation and desire to provide excellent customer service, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient keyboarding skills, basic math skills, and familiarity with medical terminology. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to prioritize work and effectively manage time; works well under pressure.
  • Electronic scheduling and registration experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • BLS or Heartsaver certification within 3 months of hire

Schedule: Part Time, Day Shift, Monday Thursday 2:30 -6:30 pm; Friday 9 am-5:30 pm
