Generations Family Dental Care is searching for the right hygienist to add to our dental family. Pay is based on experience and we are very competitive. We are a growing office with two Drs. Our office is looking for part time or full time hygienist. For full time we would require you to travel between two office locations, Southfield and Macomb. Or we have part time available in each office.

Monday 8-5 Macomb : Wednesday 8-5 Macomb : Thursday 8-7 Macomb

Tuesday 8-5 Southfield : Wednesday 10-7 Southfield

One Friday Saturday a month 8-1

We require excellent communication skills with both patients and co-workers. Soft tissue management skills, some pediatric skills, and the desire to be self-managed. With our offices being chartless we do require computer skills and the willingness to learn the dental software. We also would love if you’re LBR certified, if not we want to send you to get certified.

Your daily duties would include but will not be limited to:

· Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination

· Sterilize dental instruments properly

· Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history

· Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis

· Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)

· Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)

· Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures

· Take X-rays or dental impressions

· Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)

· Maintain documentation and charts on each patient

· Monitor supplies

· Recall during down time

Skills

· Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role

· In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)

· Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment

· Outstanding communication skills

· A patient and friendly personality

· Attention to detail

· Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job

· Degree in Dental Hygiene; Master’s is a plus

· Valid license to practice
