Job description

Part-time Dental Hygienist to join our team. Wednesdays 8am-6pm, Thursdays & Fridays, 7:30-2:00. Also four weeks of full-time beginning May 30-June 16. We are a solo-practitioner general practice with a comprehensive continuing care focus. We are a Dentrix/Dexis digital office for radiographs as well as records. NO SATURDAYS!

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial oral screenings and check oral health history
• Prophylaxes, periodontal charting, fluoride application
• Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries or periodontal disease
• Scaling and root planing
• Educate patients on proper oral health care
• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
• Sterilize dental instruments properly
• Take X-rays
• Maintain documentation and digital charts on each patient
• Monitor supplies

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
• Periodontal knowledge (scaling & root planing included)
• Outstanding communication skills
• A patient and friendly personality
• Attention to detail (this is a MUST!)
• Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene minimum (Bachelor's preferred)
• Valid license to practice in Hawaii
