Title: Area Operations Manager, Indiana

Reporting To: Regional Operations Director
Location: Valparaiso, Indiana and surrounding areas
Salary Range: $70,000 to $75,000; commensurate of experience

Position Function:

The Area Operations Manager primary responsibility is to oversee the operational support functions of a large multi-site practice within the Northwest Indiana Region. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the Area Operations Manager collaborates with Doctors and Support Services to establish, sustain, and lead a successful team that consistently exceeds patient, practice, and company expectations. The Area Operations Manager is directly responsible for making strategic decisions to manage all production and collections and ensure the practices are efficient, organized, and profitable.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Utilize metrics, dashboards, operational checklists, and key performance indicators to meet or exceed office performance, budgets
  • Meet with the Regional Director of Operations on a weekly basis to provide feedback on each office and/or employee
  • Ensure productive, efficient days via use of templates, actively monitoring schedules and providing real time feedback and communication in form of staff huddles and meetings
  • Collaborate closely with members of GLDP Leadership Team to execute strategic and operational initiatives across multi-site clinics
  • Onboard, train, and manage, relationships with GLDP dentists and specialists, aligning to our mission of keeping our providers at the forefront as our key customers
  • Work closely with the Practice Floor Managers across multi-site locations to manage daily workflow
  • Assist with implementing and improving best practices and optimal utilization of GLDP policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure superior patient care and service by making patient satisfaction a priority
  • Thoroughly understand the dental support functions of insurance collections and claims, fee schedules, patient ledgers and provider templates
  • Follow HIPAA policies and procedures to maintain patient privacy and protect patient information including financial, personal, and health information; Follow OSHA safety standards
  • Remain compliant with financial policies including invoice approval and submission, cash control, budgeting allocations, and daily processing of credit card batches
  • Optimize schedules, driving consistent patient flow by way of following up on unscheduled treatment and hygiene recalls
  • Ensure bank deposits are protected and made in a timely manner according to established guidelines and protocols
  • Maximize budgeted payroll hours by effectively scheduling staff
  • Develop relationships with key practice vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will possess:

  • An Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, communication, or another related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in multi-practice, dental operations management, preferably with a Dental Support Organization (DSO)
  • Expertise with Practice Management Software, preferably Dentrix
