About the role


Delivering one to one services out in the community Providing knowledgeable, compassionate and trusted guidance and support to people affected by dementia. This role does not include personal care – it is an information/advice support role


  • Helping people understand dementia and how to cope with day to day living whilst preparing for the future.
  • Offering support to your clients whether this is in the client's own home, out in the community, face to face, phone, letter or email.
  • You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals.
  • Empowering individuals living with dementia to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives, making informed choices about their own life.
  • Networking and building meaningful relationships with a wide range of local organisations, promoting Alzheimer’s Society services to help people with a diagnosis to get referred to the service as early as possible.


About you


  • An ability to assess and evaluate client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service.
  • Excellent person-centred and non-judgmental communication approach and active listening skills.
  • Great organisational skills to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
  • Ideally some experience of coordinating others such as volunteers.
  • Passionate about to putting people affected by dementia at the heart of everything you do, to make the service our best it can be.
  • Great networking and influencing skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Be able to travel independently.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers.

Please note, that for home-working roles, we require a reliable WiFi connection and a minimum 10Mb/s broadband.


We currently offer a home-working allowance of £26 pounds a month (full-time).
