In 2022, Edward Jones invested $ 1 billion in technology infrastructure, digital initiatives, and virtual business enablement tools. We're currently in the test and learn phase and are looking for talented, motivated professionals, that want to be part of this transformational journey. Cloud-based architecture and modern technical capabilities will enable us to grow our impact while providing the best client experience possible.

At Edward Jones our Operational Data Platform (ODP) supports our growing business with a strategic vision for future business in wealth management. As part of the Operational Data Portfolio Team, you will deliver innovative solutions to delivery operational data for the next generation of our wealth management tools. You will find solutions to improve the speed, stability, and consumption of the operational data. This will bring you into contact with a diverse array of stakeholders ranging from IT to our front-line business organization stakeholders.

What you'll do....

Product Delivery Managers (PDMs) are ultimately responsible for the success, execution, and quality of Technology digital product delivery teams. This role is for supporting and providing execution excellence for the Edward Jones' Operational Data Platform (ODP) in alignment with ongoing data and analytics strategies. This role will have significant strategy and creative thought leadership responsibility in a matrixed team structure and environment.

In the product delivery management portion of the role, you will be responsible for:
  • Continual strategy setting and evaluation of delivery team structure in alignment with firm need
  • Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the teams (e.g. incident management escalations)
  • Building strong partnerships and relationships with firm leaders in Products, QA, UX, PMO and Enterprise Architecture
  • Removing obstacles and coordinating resources to continually increase team throughput, predictability, and quality
  • Working with Technology shared services leaders and teams to remove impediments and obstacles for improvement of product delivery and cycle time
  • Oversight of product technology roadmaps to ensure proper use of architectural standards and best practices in the team's deliverables
  • Deep understanding of the product team's systems, processes, priorities, and technologies while representing these aspects to all levels of IS leadership

In the people leadership portion of this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Coaching and mentoring of Developers, Architects, Engineers, and SREs through observation and timely feedback
  • Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes and systems related to the team (e.g. resource management and support processes)
  • Identification of key team positions and develop ready-now leaders and successors
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across teams, departments, vendors, and other divisions
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors while aligning to the firm's objectives

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $109696
Hiring Maximum: $186781

Skills/Requirements

What you'll need...
  • 5+ years of experience directly related to the design and delivery of Information Technology solutions for buy - side / sell - side financial firms
  • 3+ years in a leadership role (mentoring associates and leaders, leading engineers, developers, SREs, architects, analysts, etc.)
  • 3+ years of leading Capital Markets / Wealth Management / Asset Management IT implementations with focus on data platforms and IT services
  • 3+ years of hands-on development experience, prior to moving to Product Delivery / Development Manager positions
  • Experience with Cloud technologies; Azure is a plus
  • Deep, experience with all aspects of SDLC best practices
  • Practical understanding of agile product development principles and values, ideally worked in an Agile development environment
  • Experience building out IT solutions that support real-time, low latency data transmission a huge plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
