As a data engineer senior-lead in our IT Commercial Lines (ITCL) organization, you’ll work to help develop our emerging data and cloud strategy. In this role, you’ll collaborate across the organization with business intelligence, data science, data governance and IT architecture leaders. You’ll evaluate industry trends and capabilities, Progressive enterprise-wide data/architecture capabilities and strategies, and ITCL legacy environment specifications to provide technical recommendations advancing our data strategy.

This is a remote position for US based work only.

Must-have qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum four years of related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs and applications.
• In lieu of the above, a high school diploma or GED or higher, the completion of a technical training program, and a minimum of four years related work experience.
• In lieu of the above, a high school diploma or GED or higher and a minimum of six years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs and applications.

Preferred Skills

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) working knowledge, such as Terraform
• Cloud Solutions experience, such as AWS
• Experience with SQL, Linux, and Git; any knowledge of Snowflake is a highly desirable
• Development experience using Python and/or C#

Compensation

• $90,000-$138,000/year depending on position level and experience
• Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
