Data Engineer

Description:
The Data Engineer role is a member of the IT Department and spends majority of time designing and implementing data services. This includes the management, monitoring, security, and privacy of data. Job responsibilities include the following:
- Improve data quality and efficiency
- Develop and maintain system integrations (ERP, CRM, HRIS, Travel and Expense, LMS, etc.)
- Develop and maintain tabular and multi-dimensional data models
- Combine raw information from different sources
- Build data systems and pipelines
- Analyze and organize raw data
- Data cleansing using Power Query M, Data Analysis Expression (DAX) and visualizations using Power BI reports and dashboards for Sales, Service, Finance, and commissioning department
- Debugging of DAX expressions and measures in Power BI. Scheduling refresh of datasets, and handling access management
- Develop and maintain data sets, analytical tools, programs, reports, and dashboards
- Deploying Power BI reports in BI Service and Microsoft Teams
- Process automations using Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft Forms
- Engage with business and understand needs and objectives, maintain requirements documentation
- Perform system administration, configuration management, and documentation as needed
- Provide escalation technical support coverage to end user community for IT issues
Requirements:
Must have BS in Computer Science, IT or related field and 5 years of experience with software development and data engineering. We will also accept MS in Computer Science, IT or related field and 2 years of experience with software development and data engineering.
Experience must include the following:
- Working with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Hands-on experience with PowerBI
- Hands-on experience with SQL database design (OLTP, OLAP)
- Hands-on experience of ETL/ELT development and production deployment
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services, Informatica, Talend, Matillion, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with data warehouse development and production operations
- Using programming languages (Python, C#)
- Working with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
- Working with Multidimensional Expressions (MDX)
