SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for ongoing analysis of health care information, obtained from a variety of sources, including patient care, financial, and demographic data. It requires the ability to analyze health care data from conceptualization through presentation of the data. It requires proficiency with analytical tools (SQL, Excel, MicroSoft Access), knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data collection, management and analysis for the home visiting program.

Evaluations and problem investigation in collaboration with program staff and consultants.

Work closely with colleagues to try and identify data related problems and solve them

Conduct research and collect data which will help with the needs assessment and in evaluating the effectiveness of a selected home visiting model.

Ensuring high quality data is collected and integrity of the data as per program requirements.

Help clinical staff in coordinating meetings, events and programs.

Analysis of information in collaboration with program staff and consultants using various statistical methods, trying to see patterns in data

Conceptualization of data and sharing this knowledge through effective presentation of the data output with the rest of your team and consultants.

Ensuring that data is entered properly and is secure from hackers

Liaises with evaluator to ensure that all aspects of the evaluation plan is being implemented.

This position shall require working on weekends as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field such as mathematics, statistics, public health or epidemiology. Undergraduate or graduate coursework in statistics, data analysis, research methods. 2-5 years experience in data analysis, decision support, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software.

Specific Job Skills

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise with computers.

· Demonstrated experience using advanced Excel features and techniques required.

  • Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data required.
  • Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products.

Familiarity with various types and sources of health care information, including financial and patient-level data files.

  • Experience with database application development (e.g., Microsoft Access) desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Comfortable working independently, with experience working in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to use computer hardware and software required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Experience:

One year experience in Public Health Education. Experience working with Native Indian communities, arranging training sessions, public activities and traditional ceremonies.

Job Conditions

Position requires working in an office environment and with usual office equipment including computers, copiers, and fax machines.

License:

Must possess a valid California driver’s license. A current DMV printout is required.

Ability to:

Plan, organize, develop, administer and evaluate data obtained from the field. Ability to enter data onto a database and work with Consultants to analyze the data.

Regulatory guidelines.

Skill:

Appropriate writing skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Excellent computer/word processing skills.

Type 35 wpm.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to:

Interface at all levels.

Function independently at technical and office management level. Acceptable verification of performance required.

Must be able to work with the Indian Community, and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour
