The Senior Planning Systems Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the oversight and maintenance of the Merchandise Financial Planning System (MFP), training and working with Category Management Planners (CMPs) to ensure the accuracy of the company’s plans and forecasts, supporting reporting and analytical needs of inventory management teams and merchandising teams as it pertains to inventory purchase plans and MFP system.

This Team Member will work cross-functionally, interacting with a wide range of departments including, but not limited to, Merchandising, Demand Planning & Replenishment, Sourcing, Space Planning, Store Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain/Distribution to ensure the company meets its sales, margin and inventory goals and objectives.

Major Activities

MFP System Administration

  • Ensure the system is accurate and properly utilized, including assisting the Planning Manager in training new users on the system, providing validation of system accuracy, and helping fill the role of system liaison between the business and IT
  • Assist in streamlining CMP core responsibilities across all divisions
  • Maintain and manage company Seasonal Purchase Plan Calendar; ensures all meetings are scheduled appropriately/timely and produce appropriate Purchase Plan Rollups for executive review

Merchandise and Inventory Management Support

  • Provide key analytical and reporting support to merchant and inventory management teams
  • Assist in the management of the seasonal purchase plan process, including coordination and timing of meetings, as well as reporting
  • Assist in the management of the seasonal Sweep Process and work closely with Pricing to ensure proper execution
  • Partner with Category Management, Inventory Management, Pricing, and Store Operations to maximize the profitability of clearance inventory
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis supporting Category Management and Inventory Management Teams

Reclass/Hierarchy Support

  • Assist Planning Manager in company-wide reclass twice a year
  • Liaison between Merchants, CMP group & IT
  • Manage events in Retek
  • Other duties as assigned

Power BI Support

  • Maintaining and creating BI dashboards servicing the entire Merchandising Group

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Experience using Oracle’s MFP software or similar systems experience

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

  • 5+ years in retail

Other

  • Numerical analysis; collaborative activities; project management
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints
  • Strong Analytical / fact-based decision-maker with a demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Preferred Education

  • 2+ in retail planning or allocation preferred

Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills

  • Power BI Report Builder
  • SQL or knowledge in query writing
