Overview:

Dalco, a division of Imperial Dade, leading national distributor, has a position open in New Brighton, MI. We are seeking a strategic Business Data Analyst. Located at our New Brighton, MN office, this individual will develop and implement databases, data collections, data analysis, and other strategies that optimize efficiencies and profitability. This role is perfect for someone with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop metrics with customers, supplier contacts and Account Managers to best understand the industry, market and customer needs to provide a value proposition to grow profitable sales.
  • Prepare Cost-to-Serve/GAP Analysis to discover opportunities to enhance partnerships with customers.
  • Develop and maintain systems for gathering data, creating, and the distribution of all department scorecards and KPI’s accurately and timely.
  • Analyze and suggest any corrective measures for KPI’s not meeting their goals.
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Improve systems and processes by studying current practices; define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with departments working to optimize and enhance efficiencies within.
  • Understand and assist departments with reporting and analytics from MITS, Vision and AS400 and train end users on new reports and explanations from summary findings.
  • Staying up-do-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Displays a courteous and helpful attitude in order to provide a positive experience for our internal/external customers and vendors.
  • Promptly follows up with internal/external customers and vendors after complaint to ensure they are satisfied with the action that was taken.
  • Regularly listens to customers in an empathetic manner, ensuring an understanding of questions, concerns and requests and their feeling associated with them.
  • Recommend potential departmental changes and improvements.
  • Assist all customer support departments in resolution of customer problems and satisfaction of needs.
  • Seek input from employees, supervisors and other personnel involved with the job.
  • The company may at any time change functions and requirements of the position to meet the needs of the business.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business and/or Computer science desired, or equivalent job experience, and high school graduate.
  • Level 1 – 0 to 2 years of experience.
  • Level 2 – 2 to 4 years of experience.
  • Level 3 – 5 years or more.
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
  • Highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate well to the public, in person and on the telephone.
  • Balance and prioritize multiple requests.
  • Capable and practiced in handling complex and/or multi-faceted tasks.
  • Effective time management/ organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate concern for and willingness to provide high quality customer service.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
  • AS400 desired.
