Summary/Objective

The primary objective for the Data Analyst is to gather insights within our data while building standardized and custom management reports for the leadership team. This individual will need to parse data via a centralized database, utilizing database scripting skills to build custom queries which can ultimately be standardized. Having the ability to understand the accuracy of the data within each specific query as well as the anticipated result is a critical aspect of this position. Ideally, the data analyst will have the ability to display this data in an understandable and aesthetically pleasing manner. In summary, the successful data analyst will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.

Essential Functions

1. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

2. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

3. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.

4. Utilize scripting / programming to pull simple or complex queries.

5. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

6. Fully understand the data to build a clean and standardized data set across disparate data sources; correcting code problems associated with the database.

7. Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.

8. Display the results in an easily understandable and aesthetically pleasing manner utilizing an off-the shelf solution such as Tableau or Quicksite.

Competencies

1. Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst

2. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

3. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)

4. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, Tableau, Quicksite, SPSS, SAS etc.)

5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

6. Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings in an organized and understandable manner

7. Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing logic and creativity

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, daytime hours (8 working hours) with a mix of onsite and remote work.

Travel

No travel expected for this position, although some training courses may require travel.

Required Education and Experience

1. A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.

2. A minimum 3 years of experience in the functional areas outlined above.

3. Competency standards outlined above are essential for success.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Understanding of healthcare HL7

2. Experience in healthcare analytics, particularly radiology, is a plus

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
