Verition Fund Management LLC ("Verition") is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading. We are looking for a Manager of Cybersecurity with prior experience designing, implementing and managing cybersecurity initiatives within the regulated environment of financial services. The right individual will oversee our global cybersecurity team and cybersecurity projects spanning across development, infrastructure, trading platforms, legal, compliance, human resources, offices, data centers and vendors. Expected salary range 180-200K.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee planning, design, implementation, testing, and operation of cybersecurity processes and systems.
• Provide guidance on security architecture for threat detection and response systems used as a part of the overall security operations.
• Provide direction on business process and security architecture design as it relates security analyst tools for security incident management.
• Administer security configuration for threat management platforms for a wide array of large-scale environments including security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Develop next generation threat detection solutions leveraging machine learning and AI.
• Monitor all operations and infrastructure related to cybersecurity.
• Define and monitor internal and external security policies and policy compliance.
• Monitor regulation compliance.
• Work with different departments in the organization to reduce risk and maintain a Risk Register.
• Using industry-standard analysis criteria to test the security level of the firm.
• Implementing and maintaining threat detection systems.
• Testing and checking for weaknesses in software, networks, hardware, workflow and policies.
• Manage third party red team engagements and relationships.
• Managing the technical, legal, and regulatory aspects of the system security.
• Work closely with Legal, Compliance and Human Resources in regards to legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands on experience in cybersecurity and managing a global team across time zones.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience; CISSP, CEH, CPT, CISM, CISA, CIPP, GIAC, GSEC, and/or GCFW certifications is preferred
• Proven work experience as a cybersecurity engineer and managing a diverse global team.
• Extensive technical knowledge of cybersecurity, network design, implementation, maintenance and policy enforcement.
• Experience in reviewing, implementing and maintaining security systems.
• Thorough understanding of the latest technologies, security principles, policies and protocols.
• Extensive experience with security systems, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, end point protection, log management, authentication systems, content filtering, cloud platforms, etc.
• Working understanding of financial regulatory agency and government regulations around cybersecurity.
• Ability to communicate and report cybersecurity concerns, incidents and issues to the upper management.
• Knowledge of computer forensic tools, data loss prevention methods, disaster recovery methods and scanning tools (code/application/system).
