LICENSED MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTORS/CUSTOMER SERVICE – Jiffy Lube/TCC

We are looking for both FT and PT inspectors and have open positions at multiple locations throughout the Austin area and more. Most of our locations are closed on Sundays! We will be happy to work with your schedule.

Description

The State Inspector completes state-regulated inspections on guest vehicles and inform the guest of any areas of non-compliance. This position is also expected to perform Lube Technician and Customer Advisor duties when required.

Requirements

As part of our store team, you will provide a friendly, courteous, and respectful environment that continues to set TCC apart from the competition. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• A current valid State Inspector License (varies by state).
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Able to read, write and comprehend information such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform other duties as assigned, needed or required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Commitment to follow established safety regulations, rules and guidelines.
• Must be able to speak effectively to team members and guests.
• Must be able to stand on your feet on hard surfaces such as concrete or metal.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Expect to work in an environment where you frequently experience hot and cold temperatures, loud noises and exhaust fumes.
• Organize, clean and maintain all tools and machines and inspection area.
• Ensure tools and machines are in good working order.
• Inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with State Emission Standards and Governmental regulations.
• Respectfully communicate to guests if vehicle passed or failed inspection and next steps required.
• Input guest and maintenance information into the computer system.
• Recap guest requested services with pricing and answer any questions.
• Escort the guest to the lounge area or guest may stay in their vehicle if they prefer.
• Communicate any additional service requests to the upper bay and gather parts/items for installation/service.
• Review invoiced items with guest. Accept payment for services, inform guests of value-added items and offers.
