PSI is seeking a Customer Service Engineer with experience conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system administration logs. The candidate will operate under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager. Must have experience in administering patches and taking corrective action under direct supervision. The candidate should also demonstrate a knowledge of virtual environments and have the ability to assist senior system administrators in managing a remote server farm. The candidate will also be responsible for providing Tier 2 end-user assistance, repair or resolution of desktop systems and peripheral devices. This is a full-time remote position. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a wide range of hardware and network technology devices
  • Will resolve IT issues in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Will assist in maintaining a 99.999% operational system availability
  • Analyze and report on daily server event logs and provide corrective action as required
  • Under supervision perform monthly security/system patches and updates manually or utilizing SCCM
  • Troubleshooting of basic IT services, desktop systems and peripheral devices as needed
  • Daily use of ticketing system to manage workload and end-user assistance

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school and/or technical certifications required
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, systems engineering or related technical discipline is desired. (8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a System Administrator
  • Experience providing IT support to multiple work sites
  • Experience with MS Active Directory basic administration
  • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
  • Demonstrable troubleshooting and problem resolution skills for Desktops and Laptops
  • Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
  • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
  • Ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time
  • Able to lift, carry, move, load and unload heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
