Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Position Summary:

The Service Writer is responsible for working with customers to determine their service and repair needs for the multiple lines of equipment the company represents. Success in this position requires superior customer service, effective scheduling of work to be completed, maintaining high standards for work completed and prompt and proper processing of invoices. The Service Writer has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational ability and excellent attention to detail. Consistent work hours with no evenings or weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Consults with customers and creates estimates for necessary service and repair work
• Ensures that customer approves and signs off on details and costs of work to be completed
• Creates work orders and schedules work to be completed
• Monitors progress of work by service technicians and any needed parts orders
• Keeps customers updated as to progress of work and any issues which may arise
• Performs final quality check before customer is notified that work is completed
• Responsible for the prompt and proper processing of all invoices
• Communicates with other departments regularly to ensure any internal work orders are processed as needed
• Responsible for maintaining an organized and clean yard for equipment being serviced

Requirements:

• A minimum of two years' experience in Service operations
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Superior customer service skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
• Skilled in use of MS Office applications
