We have an immediate opening for a full-time cashier. The primary duties of this role include greeting customers, scanning and bagging items, processing payments, and providing accurate change. The person in this role should be able to answer customer questions, handle customer complaints, and provide general information about the store's products and services.

The person in this role plays an important role in ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience while maintaining the financial integrity of the store. Applicants should have excellent math skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking to hire a candidate who can work well as part of a team, communicate effectively, and maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times. Your responsibilities would include ensuring that customers have a positive experience in the store and feel valued as customers.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers: Greet customers warmly and make them feel welcome.

Answer questions: Be aware of the products offered and be able to answer any questions customers may have about pricing, availability, etc.

Resolve issues: Handle customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner, working to resolve the issue to the customer's satisfaction.

Process transactions efficiently: Process transactions quickly and accurately, minimizing customer wait times.

Make recommendations: Make recommendations to customers based on their needs and preferences.

Positive attitude: Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times, even in challenging situations.

Requirements :

Experience: a minimum of 3-5 years experience as a cashier.

Friendly and approachable demeanor: Maintain a friendly and welcoming personality that puts customers at ease.

Communication Skills: the ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.

Active listening skills: the ability to actively listen to customers, understand their needs, and respond appropriately.

Product knowledge: maintain a good understanding of the store's products and services, including prices, features, and promotions.

Problem-solving skills: the ability to think on your feet and come up with solutions to customer issues or concerns.

Time management skills: manage time effectively, working efficiently to process transactions while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Multitasking skills: the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, such as processing transactions, answering questions, and handling customer complaints.

Basic arithmetic: a strong understanding of basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Calculating totals: the ability to quickly and accurately calculate the total cost of a customer's purchase, including any discounts or promotions.

Handling cash: the ability to count cash accurately and make change without the use of a calculator.
