General Summary

The custodian is responsible for providing custodial services to our four Day service locations in Sarpy County. Prime Home provides day habilitation for adults with disabilities. Each location is set up to serve each person and their abilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Educational and Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Six (6) months custodial experience preferred.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Perform basic custodial duties in a timely, safe and professional manner.
• Sweep, damp mop, spray buffer or shampoo floors.
• Provide input regarding inventory needs.
• Possess an understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals are in the SDS binder and all chemicals are labeled.
• Operate floor care equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Meet or exceed attendance expectations for this position.
• Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees and individuals.
• Must be able to use equipment and chemicals in a safe manner.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of proper cleaning procedures.

• Personally participate in ongoing professional growth, education and development as well as supporting others in their efforts to develop.
• Develop a working relationship with supervisor and co-workers.
• Interacts with coworkers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Must be able to work as part of a team in a variety of settings.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Lifting 70 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)
