Occasional Nights & Weekends
Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, extract carpets throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Move furniture, equipment, materials, and perform other general maintenance. Service, clean, and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, and clean drinking fountains. Remove trash and debris from building to dumpster. Clean entry way, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents. Replace light bulbs, as needed. Dust furniture, spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames, as needed. Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner. Snow removal, as required. Report to the Facilities Main Office by job request anything that needs repairing or replacing. Perform additional duties, as assigned by administrative or supervising personnel. Order and re-stock supplies. Assist or relieve relief custodian, as assigned.
Education & Formal Training Other Education & Formal Training
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Computer Skills Experience
Previous custodial experience preferred.

- Ability to follow routines and schedules with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read labels, written instructions, and recognize safety symbols.
- Ability to operate buffers, scrubbers, burnishers, extractors, and other custodial equipment.
- Visual ability to clean to established performance levels.
Must wear personal protective equipment.
Ability to Keyboard Special Qualifications: Other Special Qualifications
- May be required to be fit tested for respirators, which requires a physical exam.
- Safety and Specialty Certifications within one year of employment, to include: personal protective equipment, blood born pathogens, hazardous materials, hazardous communications, wall and upholstery cleaning, hard floor surfacing, gym floors, asbestos awareness, lock-out/tag-out, carpet care, etc.
