Job Title: Elementary Salsa, Merenge Dance Specialty Club Leader

Reports to: Site Coordinator

Direct Reports: None

Status: Part-time; Non-Exempt

Hourly Range: $22.00-$30.00

Schedule: Monday through Friday 15 - 20 hours/week, 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM (varies per location)

Position Information:
Woodcraft Rangers Club Specialty Leaders will provide enrichment support through Modern dance in Salsa, Merenge to young people after school and during program times. Club Leaders are responsible for ensuring a positive learning environment for students, in-person, while adhering to CDC, and local health department guidelines. Club Leaders will support clubs in ratios of no more than 20:1. Club Leaders are responsible for a positive learning environment, providing enrichment activities through gardening and outdoor education activities. Other members of the site program team include a Site specialty club leaders and a program support specialist.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging and enriching activities for club participants through in person dance activities.
  • Provide and implement a meaningful practice structure to enhance engagement, development, and effective us of time for all members of the club.
  • Design and develop culminating showcase for all students to participate in.l
  • Recruit and maintain program participants from school community (20:1 student to staff ratio)
  • Ensure students are in a safe environment (physical and emotional) at all times.
  • Develop positive relationships with youth in their program, parents, and school staff.
  • Develop and implement program activities according to program goals and monthly themes.
  • Maintain and submit daily student attendance rosters.
  • Submit lesson plans of program activities for each session in advance.
  • Develop and implement “end of session “performances or displays. WR activity catalog that support the social and emotional growth of students.
  • Participate in staff development trainings as required, approximately 20 hours / year.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience working in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED (AA Degree in Child Development or a related field preferred); prior experience working with groups of K-12 students in an academic or recreational setting preferred.
  • Work well with young children and/or youth.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Computer literacy and willingness to learn.
  • Valid LIVE Scan, TB Clearance and CPR Certification
  • Woodcraft Rangers will require proof of vaccination for ALL employees providing any in- person work with staff or clients.
  • All employees must submit a negative COVID-19 test result before their first date of employment.
