Title: Resource Coordinator

Status: Non-Exempt

Terms: Temporary/ Full-Time

Department / Location: CSBG Lumberton, NC Office

Reports To: CSBG Director

Job Summary: Under the direction of Program Director, the Resource

Coordinator negotiates agreements with potential employers. Provides counseling to enrolled participants to prepare individuals for the on-the-job training program.
Assists participants in obtaining any job-related certification. Works closely with participant’s case manager with budgeting, financial literacy, resume and or other vocational needs and contact time into AR4CA. Provides assistance in conducting community surveys and assists with the planning process. Develops contacts with local agencies and officials. Develops relationships with community partners and event sponsors to promote the
FESS program and its goals. Collects data on available services and changes in regulations. Provides support and prepares reports. Oversees special projects as need arises.
Performs other tasks as needed.

Key Relationships: Other center personnel, Coordinators, Supervisors,

Community Groups, Local Businesses/Employers, Local
Agencies, and officials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes those listed below as well as other duties as assigned by the Program Director:

  • Develops monthly training schedule for all CSBG FESS customers.
  • Reviews program and plan of operation to outline goals and objectives customer budgeting, maintaining and other financial literacy needs.
  • Assists staff in arranging meetings and surveys to determine community needs and priorities.
  • Collects information on related programs and services through local agencies and institutions.
  • Develops close working relationships with local agencies, business, potential employers, and institutions.
  • Negotiates and develops partnership agreements with employers for agency and customer support.
  • Compiles list of resources helpful in the conduct of programs.
  • Provides direction and technical support to enrolled participants in meeting program goals and objectives pertaining to financial literacy, resume, and other employment readiness .
  • Circulates in community and makes public aware of FESS program.
  • Participants in community events annually to promote the goals of the CSBG FESS program.

General Knowledge/ Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of CSBG program and its guidelines
  • Knowledge of local agencies and their services for making referrals
  • Follows an established work schedule.
  • Articulates easily and distinctly.
  • Demonstrates patience in carrying out work assignments.
  • Approaches assignments with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Displays capacity for independent thinking.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with agency programs.

Education Requirements:

Associate degree: some college credits: and/or 4 years of experience in budgeting , resume, job readiness skills

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to interview and communicate with clients and staff, may lift up to 20 lbs., sit for prolonged periods and have repetitive motions.
