POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to a Quality Manager, the Quality Crew Leader will lead assigned lines and/or work units with the overall responsibility of performance across the shift. Responsibilities will include ensuring standards are being maintained, providing coaching and development opportunities to team members, and facilitating and encouraging teamwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Set the direction of shift team and ensure overall performance of the department to meet objectives for productivity, quality, safety, food safety, sanitation, GMPs, customer service, process reliability

Ensures overall performance of the team to include quality, safety, reliability, waste and sanitation to achieve business goals.

Pro-actively encourages continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies.

Coaches, trains, and ensures compliance to plant established procedures (including work rule, safety and sanitation guidelines) while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people.

Ensures that all activities follow documented operating procedures and recommends updates to existing procedures as required.

Coordinates & schedules team vacation requests & overtime.

Determines needs and conducts training required for new & existing employees.

Ensures product meets quality standards, coordinates problem solving directly with production team

Performs job tasks of other team members when necessary

Facilitates teamwork and coaching among team members.

Provide administrative support and consultation on items related to employee time and attendance, performance reviews, skill matrices, etc.

Participates in cross-functional improvement teams and problem solving activities

Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 5 years of related quality experience.

Demonstrated leadership skills in present and past performance.

 Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, etc.

Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives required.

Proven ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people required.

Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required

Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment required.

Ability to work overtime/weekends required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of SAP, Infinity, Power Point, Access preferred.

Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required and formal leadership training strongly preferred Demonstrated competency to operate all equipment in the business strongly preferred

Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings strongly preferred
