About the Role:

Reviews, approves, declines, or recommends commercial credit applications while maintaining risk exposure consistent with bank loan quality guidelines. Responsible for oversight of workflow management for a credit underwriting and loan portfolio management team within the Commercial Real Estate Affordable Housing Group and ensuring comprehensive analysis of all new credit requests and servicing actions, as well as adherence to bank credit quality guidelines and other applicable policies. Coordinate workflow with other work groups to ensure smooth operation of the credit department and timely service to sales staff and associates, as well as customers.
  • Collaborates with Affordable Housing team to develop high quality loan portfolios.
  • Monitors and verifies risk rating accuracy on loans submitted for approval.
  • Advises Affordable Housing team on the risk rating process and ensures timely documentation of migrations.
  • Directs timely and accurate completion of credit recommendations, term loan reviews, and other credit functions.
  • Oversees reviews of credit requests within a defined scope for accuracy and make recommendations to Affordabl Housing Manager while ensuring compliance with bank and other applicable policies and procedures.
  • Oversees management of loan portfolio to ensure portfolio has consistent, high quality and timely work that complies with all credit policies and procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes financial background data for new or renewed loans. May engage with existing or prospective clients as part of the bank's due diligence and monitoring activities. Contributes to the development of credit policies, processes and methodologies.
  • Ensures Affordable Housing team is aware of all relevant changes in credit requirements.
  • Helps maintain commercial credit quality standards and provides strong and consistent credit leadership.
  • Coordinate with Credit Administration and Internal Asset Review to respond to audit exceptions.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations that apply to your position
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
About You:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • More than 10 yrs. of relevant commercia lending and credit experience with an emphasis in affordable housing. Required
  • Experience developing, modifying, and executing company policies that affect immediate operation(s) and company-wide effect.
  • Ability to regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers.
  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from operating proformas, construction budgets, credit reports, financial reports, tax returns, and other financial statements and information for non-profit and for profit entities.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
  • Excellent relationship management and business development abilities, analytical and problem-solving skills, sales skills, and credit and credit quality skills with prior lending authority experience.
  • Experience directing the work and workflow of a team and developing/coaching others. and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to change course (adaptable) at a moment's notice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.
  • Proficient knowledge of underwriting, loan documentation, appraisal, and closing processes for affordable housing projects.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing a commercial loan portfolio.
  • Proficient knowledge of bank policies and documentation.
  • Possess strong leadership, problem solving, analytical, mathematical, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and industry specific software (Word, Excel,).

Our Benefits:

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $96,890.00-$196,037.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
