Job description

Flexforce is currently looking for friction crane operator for a local shipyard in Pascagoula, MS. This position is responsible for operating friction cranes, hydraulic cranes, dock cranes, forklifts and cherry pickers. .

• Operate crane under general supervision.
• Manipulate and depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of the crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
• Inspect crane for safety issues on a daily basis.
• Determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
• Lift position and place machinery, equipment and cargo as directed.
• Properly set-up, crane mats, outriggers prior to start of operations.
• Move levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis to raise and lower crane boom and to raise and lower load line.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Read and understand crane charts.
• Operate crane according to signals of Flagman.
• Start and stop crane engine.
• Follow directions of supervision carefully.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Must be able to pass drug test
• Pay depending on experience.
• Ship yard experience required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• 1st Class Crane operation: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Crane Certification (Preferred)
