We work together to: decontaminate, clean, processes, assembles, sterilizes, utensils, and floor trays for Fairview Ridges, Fairview Southdale, Fairview Lakes Regional Center, Fairview Northland and the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview Maple Grove.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
Working to decontaminate and sterilizes surgical instruments including preparation. As a team we:
  • Ensures instruments are available and ready when needed; Completes Sterility Check points on instruments assembled and shipped; Distributes instruments to the accurate surgical case and hospital site; Transports instruments and supplies between processing areas.
  • Maintains OR Sterile Stores and specialty service instrument inventory
  • Completes all required learning relevant to the role.
  • Aligns with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Cultivates a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
  • Cleans and disinfects utensils and instrumentation. Assembles instrument procedural (floor) trays for use at the patient bedside, x-ray, emergency room, outpatient settings and clinics, Operates mechanical equipment for washing, disinfecting, drying and sterilizing devices by following all manufacturer instructions for use (IFU’s).
  • We provide continuous quality improvement techniques during the reprocessing of materials before distribution to user areas.
  • Proficiently communicates to all levels of the medical profession through telephone conversations, email or in person.
  • We respond to emergency supply/instrumentation requests.
  • Collaborates with others to achieve a team environment
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served o Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.
  • Fulfills all organizational requirements Completes all required learning relevant to the role Follows all relevant laws, regulation and policies
Qualifications:

Education:

Minimum Education:

High school Diploma or GED


Minimum License/Certification/Registration:


Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Or must be obtained with 1 year of hire date.

Preferred Experience:


One year of experience in a sterile processing environment.
