Job Description


Turner & Townsend
is seeking a Cost Manager with experience developing and maintaining all aspects of cost management and estimating across a portfolio of large real estate, manufacturing, high-tech, industrial, life sciences and various projects for key clients.


Responsibilities:


  • Performing cost reviews and estimate requests as they are submitted by the client(s).
  • Preparing documents as required by the team.
  • Document control.
  • Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Develop cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
  • Analyzing existing cost data and producing benchmark information.
  • Producing weekly + monthly cost reports and presenting to client(s).
  • Meet and negotiate costs with contractors.
  • Provide input into value engineering exercises.
  • Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Review and participate with the design services team and general contractor, in the development of the cost estimates.
  • Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
  • Communicate or meet with general contractor and owner project manager to gather status information to prepare a cost estimate update.
  • Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions and suppliers direct from NPA, subs, quantities from A/Es,.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects.
  • Complete timely, accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
  • Manage Cost impact / contingency management and commitment tracking logs.
  • Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders.


Qualifications


  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical field.
  • Experience working in a construction cost management role.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Cost Manager on real estate, industrial and technology sector projects is required.
  • Experience providing cost management and cost control services on projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Ability to estimate at conceptual, programming and detailed level.
  • Perform all of the duties above through the use/preparation of Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software.
  • Must possess exemplary communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Must be a “self-starter,” and a goal/results-oriented leader and team player.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, required.

Additional Information


The salary range for this full-time role is
$75K-$160K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
