Seeking a Cost Accountant Manager for a 5-6 month contract with our client in the biotech industry! This is a great opportunity with a large, well established company.

The basic function of this position is to support and assist the Cost Accounting Supervisor and the entire Accounting Department in compiling, analyzing, improving, and developing conclusions and actionable plans on all matters relating to our standard cost system, including investigating/reaching root cause and determining sustainable counter measures through a team-approach problem solving process.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow, design and/or implement cost accounting procedures.
  • Ensure the continuous cycle count process is performed, completed and recorded in SAP.
  • Assist in the annual physical inventory
  • Manage in the annual cost roll-up for all sites. Produce certain cost-related schedules, review external inputs and analyze results
  • Manage the preparation of cost/inventory related JE’s for month-end, QTR and YE close.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly allocations (facilities & QC, & EMS miscellaneous costs).
  • Manage the monthly reclassification of R&D inventory usage & no-charge samples to customers.
  • Review all inventory, freight-in & freight-out AP transactions.
  • Support and test a new product launch, and set up BOM, routing, and rollup standard cost for new part number
  • Providing costing data as needed by corporate auditing firm and parent company.
  • Accounting department super-user of SAP.
  • Ad hoc requests from the controller and/or cost team.
  • Responsible for annual standard cost calculation and participate in the ABC analysis
  • Prepare, review, and present financial schedules such as fluxes, absorption tests, excess capacity analysis, month-end reports, accounting memos, and other ad hoc schedules, as needed
  • Participate in design and validation efforts in SAP improvements
  • Lead special projects to improve accounting processes
  • Consolidate, analyze, and report consolidated inventory balances by product/site and perform detailed monthly variance analysis
  • Coordinate with international cost accounting and finance teams
  • Responsible for analyzing and presenting KPIs for Sr. Director of Finance, Ops, Finance, and others as required
  • Prepare and verify product costs in support of all cost-based pricing contracts, intercompany transfer pricing, and shipping valuations
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Technical Operation departments to discuss and resolve issues in areas such as production, purchasing, accounts payable, receiving, and shipping

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of standard cost experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Thorough ERP experience required (SAP is a big plus!)
  • Experience in a managerial role

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
