POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Driver (CorD) is a confidential employee responsible for the prompt and safe transportation of START’s executive, key personnel, patients, and other stakeholders, to business meetings, events, and appointments. The CorD also provides general transportation and delivery support across START’s network, ensuring on-time delivery of goods and resources to support overall operations. The role also provides additional support to the facilities division, based on needs and requests.


As a confidential employee, the CorD may become privy to intimate business information, and is required and entrusted to maintain the privacy of such information.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include and are not limited to:


  • Responsibly operate company vehicles by exercising good judgment and observing driving rules and regulations and adhering to the vehicle’s passenger and weight capacities.
  • Ensure all government-required documents, such as registration, insurance, etc., are up to date.
  • Collaborate with management to establish the corporate transportation schedule and timely execute the corporate transportation schedule to meet objectives.
  • Provide safe transportation to START’s stakeholders to designated locations to engage in official company business; safely transport patients to scheduled appointments or recreational services to support their care and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with patients and staff.
  • Maintain professional and physical boundaries with patients and staff by not interjecting into conversations unless directly addressed, and by not making physical contact with stakeholders unless at the stakeholders request to support the stakeholders’ safe entry and exit of the vehicle.
  • Maintain travel and receipt logs with documents to support work hours, travel time, locations, mileage, fuel usage and cost, passenger information, etc.
  • Provide reports at required intervals.
  • Manage the routine maintenance schedule for company vehicles to ensure safe operating conditions (i.e., checking oil and gas levels, and maintaining proper tire pressure).
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of the vehicle following hygienic, and company standards or guidelines; ensure operator and passenger compliance with care protocols, including no eating in vehicles.
  • Immediately and factually report motor vehicle accidents, and passenger/pedestrian injury, by contacting the police department and supervisor, and obtain medical attention for all involved.
  • Pickup and deliver mail, products, goods, and resources for required locations.
  • Keep abreast of driver rules, and START’s required compliance training.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

MUST be able and willing to work late evenings and weekends based on the needs of the business.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES


  • Valid NY state license and clean driving record.
  • At least one year of professional or corporate driver experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated understanding of motor vehicle road rules and road signs.
  • Ability to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with others.
  • Basic grasp and application of mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence and instructions and apply common sense reasoning to carry out uninvolved written and/or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently, meet work schedule and deadlines, multi-task, problem-solve, and work under limited supervision.
  • Flexibility to meet work schedule requirements or changes.
  • Strong organizational ability and aptitude and willingness to learn new responsibilities.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of various sizes of packages, and boxes; maintain the security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day.
