2115 - 2413 - Corporate Attorney

DeRoyal is actively searching for a Corporate Attorney to join its Legal Services team at its corporate headquarters in Powell, Tennessee. This role reports to the Chief Legal Officer.

Education and experience requirements include:

J.D. degree from an accredited law school is required. Must be admitted to the Tennessee bar or eligible to register to work in-house in Tennessee pursuant to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 7. One to three years corporate transactional work experience is preferred; interest in healthcare, privacy, and technology transactions is beneficial. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with employees representing all levels of the organization.

Day to day duties include but are not limited to:

• Working with data privacy and security matters, as well as, information technology transactions.
• Interpreting and advising on complex health care regulations, including those related to HIPAA, sales compliance, and durable medical equipment providers.
• Interpreting law, rulings, and regulations related to the manufacturing and sales of medical devices and related technologies, and then communicating results to appropriate recipients.
• Interacting with DeRoyal employees and outside legal counsel as required and directed by the Chief Legal Officer.
• Advising DeRoyal employees of contractual rights and obligations, and providing interpretation of terms and conditions.
• Monitoring contract progress, renewal or termination, and drafting supporting correspondence and project documentation.
• Analyzing contracts to determine requirements, and providing guidance to DeRoyal employees for purposes of negotiation and dispute resolution.
• Communicating with customers or prospective customers, subcontractors, vendors, and their counsel regarding contractual agreements.
• Anticipate, analyze, and mitigate legal and compliance risks.
• Providing general corporate support in order for company to meet its goals.
