Job description
Bessemer’s Corporate Accounting team is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to play a critical role in accounting and policy matters. This role will focus on legal entity accounting, revenue recognition accounting and new accounting pronouncement implementation. The ideal candidate will make a meaningful contribution to our close acceleration project. This role will report into an Assistant Controller and will have meaningful interaction with our Corporate Controller.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:
- Legal entity accounting and regulatory reporting for certain bank subsidiaries
- Accounting for fees from client services, our primary revenue driver
- Accounting and policy for technical accounting areas including lease accounting and certain compensation plans
- New accounting pronouncement analysis and documentation
- Goodwill impairment analysis and technical accounting reviews
- Preparation of quarterly financial statement analytical packages for Controller and CFO review
- Working with the Assistant Controller on our close acceleration project
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , CPA required
- 6-10 years of professional experience in financial services, preferably banking and/ or wealth management
- A mix of public accounting and corporate accounting experience
- Oracle ERP experience is beneficial
- The ideal candidate will be analytical and solution oriented
- Experience in process and control design and implementation
- Able to effectively train and coach more junior team members
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Willingness to take on new challenges
