Coordinator, Admissions and Recruiting - Gies College of Business

Job Summary

Provide recruitment and admissions support in a fast-paced, professional, customer-focused and results-driven environment. Collaborate with Online Programs staff on recruitment initiatives to drive enrollment growth for Online Programs through the development of strategic recruitment and relationships. In conjunction with the leadership of the online programs, consult and support the program directors in cultivating, admitting and serving high quality graduate students.

Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment:

  • Reach out and encourage prospective students to explore and eventually apply to the online programs by making phone calls, sending informational emails and building personal relationships.
  • Counsel and advise prospective students as they move through the admissions process including consulting with them on program fit, answering questions about the admissions process, alleviating concerns, assisting with application submission.
  • Actively manage and report on the prospective student pipeline, work towards admissions goals, and assist in admissions event planning.
  • Present at recruiting events, both in-person and online.
  • Establish a high quality experience for interested candidates in the Gies College of Business.
  • Work some evening and weekend hours.

Admissions:

  • Evaluate admissions applications; apply discretion and independent judgment in evaluating and comparing applications and gathering information in preparation for admission consideration; and provide input to the admissions team for admissions decisions.
  • Perform informational and assessment interviews of potential candidates.
  • Assist with operational functions including, but not limited to transcript verification, course articulation. processing and notification of admissions decisions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of professional experience.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in recruiting, admissions or sales.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and proven success in managing across multiple stakeholders. Must demonstrate a service oriented attitude and for working with faculty and students. Working knowledge of computer related databases and office related software.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after March 22, 2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The work location for this position may be flexible. Highly qualified candidates may be eligible to work full-time remotely within the US, on-premise at our offices in Champaign, Illinois, or a combination.
