Description

Job Purpose or Objective: The Food Service Worker prepares, seasoning, and cooking of deli items for sale in eating establishment. You will report to the Travel Plaza Shift Manager, Travel Plaza Assistant Manager, or Travel Plaza Store Manager.

Payrate: $12.50 per hour| Hourly, Part Time| Schedule and Shift: 5 days per week with rotating days off and the schedule will be provided weekly, must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays. | This position is eligible for the option of weekly pay. |

Primary Tasks:

• You will provide food service that meets standards for ingredient quantity, quality, safety and consistency. Maintain knowledge of all product offerings. Ensure fast service with all food prepared according to standards.

• You will prepare food items per menu and recipes mixing and measuring ingredients according to recipe, using variety of ingredients and kitchen tools, utensils and equipment

• Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and steam kettles to obtain best results.

• Clean and sanitize work area and food preparation equipment; wash and dry dishes and other cooking utensils used in preparing food according to standards.

• Store food in designated areas, using knowledge of time and temperature requirements and food spoilage; document temperature readings on required logs.

• Prepare all guest orders correctly and serve meals to guests using Guest Service Standards to achieve ultimate guest experience.

• Comply with food and store safety programs and behaviors to minimize employee and guest injury and illness including hand washing, sanitation, food handling/storage and time and temperature controls.

• Receive products from venders following receiving procedures. Document bad merchandise/write-offs per Travel Plaza policy.

• We ask that you assist with the physical maintenance and sanitation of the facility; therefore, Food Workers are to maintain the facility by being interactive and hands-on with all cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation procedures.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Acquire and maintain Food Handler's Certification

• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on feet 6 hours per shift.
