South Shore Community Action Council, Inc., South Shore Early Education and Care, is seeking a full-time Cook II at our Wareham location.
POSITION: 35 hrs.; 52 weeks per year, full time, all benefits apply.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for ordering, preparing, disbursing, and serving meals at the locations of South Shore Early Education and Care (in accordance with ACF/USDA guidelines) and coordinating with all sites for meal service. Candidate must be Food Serve Trained (MSFA certified), and allergen awareness trained. Knowledge of USDA food programs is a plus, not required. Knowledge and understanding of a large facility's inventory, stocking, and ordering protocols are required. Responsible for kitchen inventory and preparing special meals for children with medical allergy needs.
Core Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts preferred; previous large meal service required; inventory; ability to work with varying groups of children and adults; USDA background. Serve Safe Certification required. At least two years experience in a nonprofit; preschool or similar work environment preferred.
